VSF elected to respond to the urgent need to promote community recovery and stability by facilitating the restoration of livelihood. The livelihood and recovery strategy is a conceptual shift from dependence on humanitarian aid and charity to self-reliance.
VSF is working to improve the access to education of children enrolled in schools by providing school structures, facilities and learning materials which are essential for effective learning to take place.
VSF provides quality reliable data and information on Insurgency and Terrorism in Nigeria. VSF generated data is aggregated in an accessible database and regularly updated to reflect new and emerging trends will be disseminated.
As part of the drive to administer support to victims of insurgency, VSF has embarked on the rebuilding and renovation of public structures and social utilities destroyed during the onslaught of the insurgents.
Outside its core programmes, VSF still implements emergency interventions or special projects which are not our key focus areas but are necessitated by the prevailing emergency situation.
While Government is intensifying efforts to scale up support for the victims of these unfortunate incidents, the number of victims and the length of time that they require support continue to increase. It is for this reason that the need to diversify and enhance the funding sources for supporting these victims has arisen.
