Victims Support Fund (VSF) on Friday 23rd November 2018 flagged off the Women Economic Empowerment Project in Bama Borno State. The project will reach 6000 women across the three most affected States of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe. The objective of the project is to assist women who are household heads to become financially independent through cash grants to support the setting up of income generating activities.

The VSF Women Economic Empowerment programme has consistently been scaled up financially and numerically targeting more women in communities where the people have returned. 6000 selected beneficiaries will receive N30,000 each with which they will use to start businesses.

Additionally, 5000 women reached previously from 2016 and 2017 have been formed into small scale producer groups also known as Community Based Women Entrepreneur Groups. The groups have been established in larger enterprises such as grain mills, oil mills, textiles and other businesses profitable in the communities. The enterprises will be jointly run and managed by members of each of the groups.

Victims Support Fund in executing its programmes continually strives to restore livelihood and engender financial independence among women victims of insurgency.
